NAHCON Seeks Stronger Coordination with Saudi Embassy for Smooth 2026 Hajj

Ismail Yusuf, Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has called for closer coordination with the Saudi Embassy in Nigeria to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience for Nigerian pilgrims in the 2026 Hajj.

According to a statement issued by NAHCON’s Information Officer, Suwaiba Ahmad, Yusuf made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Yousef Albalawi in Abuja.

He disclosed that NAHCON had commenced high-level diplomatic engagements with Saudi authorities as part of early preparations for the 2026 Hajj. The commission’s CEO also confirmed that inspection of facilities in Saudi Arabia has begun to guarantee the comfort, safety and welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.

In response, Ambassador Albalawi pledged to strengthen collaboration with NAHCON to ensure a successful and hitch-free pilgrimage exercise.

The NAHCON chairman had earlier held three separate virtual meetings with Saudi officials focusing on strategy, regulations, pilgrim quotas, visa processes, IT interconnectivity and broader bilateral cooperation aimed at ensuring smooth Hajj operations.
